2006 WTT FINALS WEEKEND RECAP
The WTT Finals Weekend presented by Advanta kicked off on Saturday, July 29 with semifinal action. The Newport Beach Breakers, led by Ramon Delgado, defeated Mark Knowles and his Sacramento Capitals in the first match of the day. Later that evening, the New York Sportimes fell to the Philadelphia Freedoms.

On Sunday, July 30, Rennae Stubbs completed a near flawless weekend of tennis, guiding the Philadelphia Freedoms to their second World TeamTennis Championship, defeating the Newport Beach Breakers in a thrilling match played on Newport's home court.

Rennae Stubbs was named Finals MVP compiling a 20-6 record over the course of the weekend winning all of the four events she played in.
