HOW THE WTT DRAFT WORKS:
The WTT Draft will be held on Tuesday, March 27 in Miami, Florida. Teams will draft in reverse order of the previous year's final team standings, based on overall match won/loss record. The team that wins the WTT Championship match will draft in the last position. In the case of a tied record, the tie will be broken in favor of the team with the most direct wins over the tying team(s). If a tie still exists, the team, which has won the most total games in the regular season, will be given precedence. New teams coming to the League for the following season will draft in the middle of the order.
Each team has the right to protect any player from that team’s previous year’s roster. A team may not protect more than four players unless the fifth player is a Marquee Player. Teams must announce which, if any, of the players from their previous year’s roster they will protect by 6 pm EST on Monday, March 26.
The draft will continue round by round until each team has selected two men and two women (or in the case of a team with a Marquee Player, enough players to fill its roster for the duration of the season).
Teams are permitted to trade players up to the last day of the regular season.
